CSU is an intensive four-day training (June 16-June 19) in a classroom setting for professionals who work with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Topics:

  • Characteristics and classroom assessments of students with autism

  • Principles and implementation of Structured Teaching

  • Working with families of children with autism

  • Communication and socialization strategies

  • Proactive behavioral strategies promoting independent, vocational and social skills

This Training offers:

  • A direct, supervised experience in a demonstration classroom setting

  • Interactive experience with students with autism of varying ages from elementary through transition and with varying functioning levels

  • An intense period of active learning

  • Presentations and demonstrations of Structured Teaching philosophies and methodologies

  • An opportunity to work as a team to set-up a classroom including arranging the physical structure of the room and working with students primary through high school

NOTE - Prerequisite for this training: Basic Elements of Structured Teaching (BEST) in-person, BEST online or BEST+ in-person. There are no more in-person BEST+ trainings for this school year. Click here to fulfill prerequisite online.
