Structured Teaching Classroom Set-Up (CSU)
CSU is an intensive four-day training (June 16-June 19) in a classroom setting for professionals who work with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Topics:
Characteristics and classroom assessments of students with autism
Principles and implementation of Structured Teaching
Working with families of children with autism
Communication and socialization strategies
Proactive behavioral strategies promoting independent, vocational and social skills
This Training offers:
A direct, supervised experience in a demonstration classroom setting
Interactive experience with students with autism of varying ages from elementary through transition and with varying functioning levels
An intense period of active learning
Presentations and demonstrations of Structured Teaching philosophies and methodologies
An opportunity to work as a team to set-up a classroom including arranging the physical structure of the room and working with students primary through high school
NOTE - Prerequisite for this training: Basic Elements of Structured Teaching (BEST) in-person, BEST online or BEST+ in-person. There are no more in-person BEST+ trainings for this school year. Click here to fulfill prerequisite online.
